Roles and permissions
Choose who can access Vanta and what each staff role can manage.
Set dashboard access
Open Roles and Permissions
Open the permissions area and review the roles currently connected to the dashboard.
Choose the access level
Give each staff role only the dashboard access and feature permissions required for its job.
Test the result
Use a test or trusted staff account to confirm the intended pages are available and restricted pages remain unavailable.
Discord role hierarchy
When Vanta needs to manage Discord roles, the bot's role must be high enough in the server hierarchy to perform the requested action.
Open Discord role settings
Check the Vanta bot role and the roles it is expected to manage.
Move Vanta above managed roles
Place the Vanta role above the roles it needs to manage, while avoiding unnecessary permissions.
Retry the action
Return to Vanta and test the action again after the Discord hierarchy is corrected.
