Moderation
Keep moderation records clear and make sure only the right staff can manage them.
Create a moderation record

Open Moderation
Open the moderation area and find the member or event you need to record.

Record the action
Document what happened and what action was taken. Keep the reason factual and relevant.

Save and review
Check the record before saving, then make sure only authorised staff can access it.
Discord actions and permissions
Where moderation is connected to Discord, Vanta needs the permissions required for the action. Discord role hierarchy can also affect what the bot can do.

Check Vanta's role
Make sure the bot has the Discord permission needed for the action and that its role is positioned correctly.

Confirm the staff member has the Vanta permission needed to use the moderation feature.
